API Key Management
API keys allow secure programmatic access to the ShareAI decentralized network. Follow these simple steps to generate and manage your API keys using the ShareAI Console.
Generating a New API Key
Step 1: Navigate to API Keys
- Go to https://console.shareai.now/app/api-key/, or click API Keys from the dropdown menu under your account profile in the console.
Step 2: Create New API Key
- Click on the Create New Key button.
- Enter a descriptive name for your API key in the prompt provided.
- Click Add Key to proceed.
Step 3: Save Your API Key
- Once generated, your new API key will be displayed only once.
- Important: Immediately copy your API key and store it securely. ShareAI will not display the key again for security reasons, and our team cannot recover a lost key.
- Click Copy Key, store it securely, and then select Close.
Best Practices
- Keep your API keys confidential. Only share them with trusted team members.
- Ensure secure storage practices to avoid unauthorized access or misuse.
- Generate separate keys for different applications or team members to enhance security.
API Key Limits
You can generate as many API keys as needed. In future updates, ShareAI will introduce enhanced features allowing specific permissions per key, such as:
- Restricted access to specific AI models.
- Token or user credit usage limits.
- Special permissions like “Priority over my device.”
