Use Priority over my Device
Configure ShareAI device-routing priority for an eligible provider account and understand its relationship to model access, availability and usage.
On this page
Priority over my Device is a routing preference for eligible provider accounts. It chooses the order in which your own devices and other eligible community devices are considered. It belongs with Provider workflows because it depends on devices you operate.

Choose the routing preference#
| Setting | Routing preference |
|---|---|
| Off | Community devices first, then your own eligible devices. |
| On | Your own eligible devices first, then community devices. |
Configure it for the request path you use#
- Select the account that owns the provider and the request credential.
- In API keys, open the key’s available configuration and review Priority over my Device when it is offered.
- For Playground, use its separate Priority over my Device toggle when the account exposes it.
- Verify the selected model is available on a connected, eligible device and save any key configuration changes.
- Send a small test request and inspect observed activity and Usage.
What it does not do#
Priority does not install a model, connect an offline device, reserve permanent capacity or bypass API-key model/provider restrictions. It also does not mean every request is free. Use the current effective consumption and billing record rather than an old percentage example.
If the option is missing#
Check provider access and feature availability for that account. A standard user account does not necessarily expose provider-specific controls. Do not replace a missing option by sending an unrelated Provider API or device token to inference.
