Set up Device Remote Control
Enable ShareAI Remote Control for a single device, issue its token and verify sharing commands with the correct provider and device UUIDs.
On this page
Use Device Remote Control when an automation needs to inspect sessions or request sharing changes for one device. Each device token is bound to its provider–device relationship.
- Enable Provider Remote Access in the provider settings.
- Open the connected device and select Remote Control.
- Enable device Remote Control and create a named device token.
- Copy the provider UUID and device UUID from this same device relationship.
- Test a sessions read before sending start or stop commands.

Two switches, two credential types#
Turning off Provider Remote Access blocks the provider’s remote access path. Turning off this device’s Remote Control blocks its device operations. A provider model token cannot replace the device token even when both switches are enabled.
Verify commands#
A start/stop response can acknowledge dispatch before the observed device state changes. Check the device and sessions afterward. If a disconnected device rejects access, restore connectivity before retrying remote operations.
Rotate and remove tokens#
Create separate names for separate automations. Revoke or delete tokens no longer in use. Verify the integration stops authenticating after retirement and that unrelated tokens still work.
