Create and manage API keys

Use the current ShareAI API keys interface to create a named credential, keep its secret safely and manage the access granted to each integration.

An inference API key authorizes requests for its owning workspace. Give each integration a recognizable key so you can manage access without sharing one secret across unrelated projects.

Create a key#

  1. Open API keys in the workspace that should own the requests.
  2. Choose Create New Key to open the Create API key dialog.
  3. Enter a useful name and review the available access and configuration fields.
  4. Create the key and store the secret in your backend environment or secret manager.
  5. Send a small authorized request and verify its result and recorded usage.

Manage existing keys#

Use the key’s actions to review or change its configuration. Check the name and workspace before deactivating or deleting a key, and replace the credential in dependent integrations when access changes.

Use the right credential type#

A Console inference key is different from a Provider Remote Access token, a device token or an application OAuth access token. The API map explains which interface accepts each credential.

Set access deliberately#

Restrict models and providers before giving an integration access. Provider accounts can also consult Priority over my Device.

First integration#
